freeXreport Editions explained

DEPLOYMENT EDITION

This edition allows you to:

• create freeXreport database,
• define new report,
• create data connection for report,
• create new report data sources – SQL query,
• define report parameters – name, type, default value, value lists, etc.,
• define report layout types,
• design report layout,
• create report books,
• to administer with users/roles and user/roles rights,
• to view reports,
• import/export reports.

Main purpose of this edition is administrative and only with this edition is possible to make and to design new reports.

This edition is intended for big users and our developing partners. Smaller users can use our webshop to buy ready to run reports for their system or order development of new reports for their system from us or our partners.

DESIGNER EDITION

This edition allows you to:

• create freeXreport database,
• define report layout types,
• design report layout,
• create report books,
• to administer with users/roles and user/roles rights,
• to view reports.

Having this edition you don’t have to have DEPLOYMENT EDITION installed. It allows you to administer user/roles/reports/books rights and to import reports.

This edition is intended for end users who will order development of reports or buy ready to run reports from our webshop.

WEBSERVER EDITION

This edition will connect on freeXreport database and distribute reports through web browsers and mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone).

To use WEBSERVER EDITION you have to have DEPLOYMENT or DESIGNER edition installed or .net version of either mentioned edition. User right and other administration of WEBSERVER EDITION is done through standard administration in one of mentioned edition.

DESKTOP VIEWER

This is desktop viewer application for windows environment which gives users more benefits than web or mobile viewer such report table of contents, connected reports pages, ...

.net DEPLOYMENT EDITION

With this edition you will get .net developer control to use when developing custom application for you or your clients.

freeXreport .net developer control allows you:

• include freeXreport reports in your application,
• to connect to freeXreport database (regular or .net freeXreport database),

Designing parameter forms, reports data sources and report layouts is done through .net DEPLOYMENT EDITON or regular DEPLOYMENT EDITON without having needs to change your .net project and distribution of new executable version.

This edition will create .net freeXreport database. You cannot connect with .net DEPLOYMENT EDITION on regular DEPLOYMENT EDITION to view or administer reports.

.net DEPLOYMENT EDITION allows you to:

• create .net freeXreport database,
• define new report,
• create data connection for report,
